System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException - Type '..., ..., Version=..., Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' is not registered for activation

.NET 1.1로 만든 Remoting 서비스가 지금도 사용할리는 없겠지만... 혹시나 싶어 기록을 남깁니다.

.NET 1.1 웹 사이트에서 .NET 1.1 Remoting 호출을 사용하는 환경에서, .NET 1.1 Remoting 서비스만 .NET 2.0 이상으로 변경하면, 기존의 .NET 1.1 웹 사이트에서 다음과 같은 오류가 발생할 수 있습니다.

System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Type 'RemoteInterfaceLib.HWCAO, RemoteInterfaceLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' is not registered for activation. 
at System.Runtime.Remoting.Activation.ActivationListener.Activate(IConstructionCallMessage ctorMsg) 
at System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.StackBuilderSink._PrivateProcessMessage(IntPtr md, Object[] args, Object server, Int32 methodPtr, Boolean fExecuteInContext, Object[]& outArgs) 
at System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.StackBuilderSink.PrivateProcessMessage(RuntimeMethodHandle md, Object[] args, Object server, Int32 methodPtr, Boolean fExecuteInContext, Object[]& outArgs) 
at System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.StackBuilderSink.SyncProcessMessage(IMessage msg, Int32 methodPtr, Boolean fExecuteInContext)

물론, 해결방법은 웹 사이트도 .NET 2.0으로 마이그레이션 해야 합니다.

Remoting 서비스를 대체하는 서비스가 현재는 어떠한 것들이 있나요?
