org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: sorry, too many clients already
; https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2757549/org-postgresql-util-psqlexception-fatal-sorry-too-many-clients-already

정리해 보면, SQL 쿼리로 "SHOW config_file;" 명령을 실행해 conf 파일 경로를 구한 후,

/var/lib/postgresql/data/postgresql.conf

(혹은, 그냥 윈도우/리눅스에 상관없이 설치 폴더를 기준으로 /data/postgresql.conf를 찾으면 됩니다.)

해당 파일의 "max_connections" 옵션을 (기본값 100에서) 적절하게 늘려주면 됩니다.

// docker container의 경우 apt를 이용해 nano 등의 편집기를 설치 후,

root@413ae7aa9ad4:/# apt update
root@413ae7aa9ad4:/# apt install nano

root@413ae7aa9ad4:/# nano /var/lib/postgresql/data/postgresql.conf

root@413ae7aa9ad4:/# cat /var/lib/postgresql/data/postgresql.conf

참고로, 아래는 12.2 버전의 postgres 컨테이너에서 제공하는 conf 파일의 전문입니다.

root@413ae7aa9ad4:/# cat /var/lib/postgresql/data/postgresql.conf
# -----------------------------
# PostgreSQL configuration file
# -----------------------------
#
# This file consists of lines of the form:
#
# name = value
#
# (The "=" is optional.) Whitespace may be used. Comments are introduced with
# "#" anywhere on a line. The complete list of parameter names and allowed
# values can be found in the PostgreSQL documentation.
#
# The commented-out settings shown in this file represent the default values.
# Re-commenting a setting is NOT sufficient to revert it to the default value;
# you need to reload the server.
#
# This file is read on server startup and when the server receives a SIGHUP
# signal. If you edit the file on a running system, you have to SIGHUP the
# server for the changes to take effect, run "pg_ctl reload", or execute
# "SELECT pg_reload_conf()". Some parameters, which are marked below,
# require a server shutdown and restart to take effect.
#
# Any parameter can also be given as a command-line option to the server, e.g.,
# "postgres -c log_connections=on". Some parameters can be changed at run time
# with the "SET" SQL command.
#
