우분투 설치 시 "CHS: Error 2001 reading sector ..." 오류 발생

우분투 설치를 위해,

윈도우에서 USB 장치에 Rufus를 이용해 준비했습니다.

Rufus

Rufus 3.11 Portable

대상 컴퓨터에 해당 USB를 연결한 후 BIOS 설정에서 부팅 우선순위를 바꾸고 우분투 설치 화면 전의 로딩 화면으로 진입을 했는데,

한참을 멈춰 있더니 다음과 같은 오류가 발생합니다.

CHS: Error 2001 reading sector 4160159 (259/21/50)
EDD: Error 2000 reading sector 4162207
...[생략]...

설마... 하는 마음으로 Rufus의 "Check device for bad blocks" 옵션을 켜고 다시 USB 장치를 굽는데,

보는 바와 같이 진짜로 "Bad Blocks"가 있습니다. (32GB USB라 꽤 아끼던 거였는데... ^^;) 다른 USB로 교체 후 정상적으로 설치 끝!
