오류 유형: 16. STS Communication failed.

제어판에 가서, "Windows CardSpace"를 실행했더니 다음과 같은 오류가 발생하였습니다.

An error occurred accessing the Windows CardSpace. Please check the event log for more details.

오류 메시지와는 달리, Event Log에는 아무런 오류 기록이 남아 있지 않았습니다. 혹시나 다른 동작에서는 이벤트 로그가 발생할 수 있을까 싶어서 "Windows CardSpace로의 첫걸음"에서 제공되는 실습 페이지인 "Sample Exercise 1"을 방문했더니, 드디어 다음과 같은 오류가 이벤트 로그에 남았습니다.

구글에서 검색을 해보니, 위와 같은 오류의 시행착오가 한 건도 없더군요. ^^;
그래서, 찬찬히 오류 메시지를 뜯어 보았습니다. "UIAgentCrashedException"이라... 윈도우가 뜨려다 오류가 발생했다는 것인데. 그렇게 보니 뭔가 감이 잡히는 것이 있습니다.

제 컴퓨터는 델 D800 노트북인데요. Windows 2003이 설치되어져 있습니다. 아쉽게도 D800에는 Windows 2003용 비디오 드라이버가 없어서 XP용 드라이버로 대체한 상태인데, 이것이 GDI 리소스 관리에 문제가 있어서 GDI 핸들을 대량으로 사용하는 VS.NET 2005와 같은 프로그램을 몇 개만 띄워 놓으면, 그 시점부터는 타이틀 바가 안 나오거나 화면의 일부가 갱신이 안 되거나 하는 현상이 발생하게 됩니다. 결국 그런 문제인 것 같습니다. 이런 희귀한 경우이니, 당연히 검색 결과가 없겠지요.

그래서, 프로그램 몇 개 죽이고 하니 잘 됩니다. ^^;
